Roy Shanks
Chief Operating Officer
Georgeson, Canada

As Chief Operating Officer of Georgeson Canada, Roy is responsible for all aspects of Georgeson’s Canadian business. With 20 years experience, he is one of the pioneers in Canadian proxy solicitation services and has participated in almost every major M & A and proxy battle in Canada during that time.
           
Roy sits on numerous global committees with leaders of Georgeson offices worldwide and represents Georgeson Canada on the Computershare Canada Senior Management Team.

He is an active member of the Canadian Investors Relations Institute (CIRI) and the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries (CSCS). Roy is regularly called upon to advise companies on shareholder communication strategies and has spoken on numerous shareholder communications issues before members of CSCS, CIRI and Insight Information.

Chris Makuch
Vice President, National Sales and Marketing
Georgeson Canada

As a specialist in shareholder response services, Chris provides strategic counseling and program execution in proxy solicitation, market surveillance/institutional shareholder identification, information agent services, and shareholder asset reunification/small shareholder programs.

Before joining Georgeson in 2008, Chris co-founded The Shareholder Response Group in 2002. He also worked in the Financial Services Division of Hill & Knowlton Canada and at Georgeson Shareholder Communications as Director of Business Development.

Chris has defended senior management and boards during hostile M&A transactions, successfully solicited shareholder votes during multi-billion dollar international mergers and implemented strategic, cost-saving programs for issuers.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and has completed the Canadian Investment Funds Course. 

Chris is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and is a past-member of the board of directors of the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries (CSCS).

He has spoken on M&A issues at the Canadian Bar Association’s Canadian Corporate Counsel Association Conference.

Simon Thomas
Vice President
Georgeson Canada

Based in Vancouver, Simon is responsible for Georgeson’s client relationship and business development within British Columbia.

Simon began his financial services career as a team manager in Georgeson’s London office, where he worked on many complex M&A transactions for some of the U.K.’s largest issuers. Since then he has held increasingly senior roles with a number of international fund services companies.

Before assuming his current role with Georgeson, Simon held the position of Manager, Client Services at Computershare, where he was responsible for the operations of the client services team in Vancouver. Simon’s client relationship management and financial services experience is a great asset when advising corporations on communication strategies with their shareholders in order to assist them in achieving their corporate objectives.

Simon is an active member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI), the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries (CSCS) and the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Beverly Sklarnone
Assistant Vice President, Business Development, Western Region

In addition to her role as Assistant Vice President Business Development at Computershare, Beverly is responsible for Georgeson Shareholder Communications Canada Inc. in the Calgary office (Western Region).

With over 25 years of Trust industry experience in Calgary and Toronto, she has worked on numerous privatizations in Canada. Beverly has been with Computershare / The Trust Company of Bank of Montreal for the past 13 years. She brings strong product knowledge, sales experience, and in-depth understanding of the service needs of corporate clients.

She holds a Business Administration Degree from Mount Royal College and a Business Education Certificate from the Trust Companies Institute.

Dragan Draganjac
Assistant Vice President Business Development, Eastern Canada

Based in Toronto, Dragan is responsible for Georgeson’s client relationship and business development for Eastern Canada.

With over 10 years of financial services experience in Toronto, Dragan has fostered relationships with Canada’s top law firms, investment banks, and corporations. His industry experience includes expertise in shareholder meetings, financial printing, corporate depositary interests (DIs) and debt trusteeships, client servicing, and stock transfer. Dragan has been involved with numerous high profile global merger and acquisitions, and tender offers.

Dragan’s client relationship management and financial services experience is a great asset when advising corporations on communication strategies with their shareholders in order to assist them in achieving their corporate objectives.

Dragan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ryerson University, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.

Kevin Beningernone
Manager, Proxy Services

Kevin oversees proxy programs that are led by a team of Account Executives. His role is to provide assistance and insight during the implementation of strategies that ensure the success of these programs.

Kevin recently joined Georgeson in April 2010 and has more than 25 years of financial services industry experience including expertise in shareholder meetings, scrutineering, client servicing and stock transfer. 

Before assuming his current role, Kevin worked as Manager, Client Services at Computershare Investor Services for over 5 years. He managed a team of support personnel who assist in many areas of client servicing. He also managed a team of Relationship Managers who provided service to many small and mid-sized companies.

He has held increasingly progressive roles at Computershare culminating in his current role at Georgeson.

Marnie Mycroft
Account Executive

Marnie joined Georgeson in 2008 and has over 10 years experience in Account Management and Client Services.

Since joining Georgeson, she has assisted companies involved in mergers and acquisitions, and tender offers.  Marnie also advises corporations on solicitation strategies for annual meetings as well as corporate governance issues.  Corporations look to Marnie for her expertise in preparing shareholder compositions, vote/tender projections and institutional shareholder contact information.

Mike Rosenbergnone

Mike is a York University graduate, majoring in economics and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. Mike is a seasoned and highly knowledgeable securities industry professional with over 21 years of multifaceted experience in shareholder relations, client servicing, corporate trust and asset securitization.

Prior to joining Georgeson Mike was entrusted with progressively expanding responsibilities within Computershare Trust Company of Canada. During his tenure at Georgeson, he has advised and assisted companies involved in high profile proxy contests, annual and special meetings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jeff joined Georgeson in 2004 and has over 18 years related industry experience.  During his tenure at Georgeson, he has developed and implemented investor communication strategies for publicly-traded companies involved in shareholder meetings and corporate actions, including numerous high profile mergers and acquisitions.

Mark Lynchnone

As an Account Executive with Georgeson since 2003, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the proxy services group.  He has managed the solicitation for many of Canada’s largest issuers and been involved in several high profile mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests and tender offers.  

Prior to joining Georgeson, Mark worked in the Mortgage-backed securities group of Montreal Trust and held various positions within Computershare’s Corporate Trust services.  Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Jessica Connellnone
Campaign Development Coordinator

Jessica has been Georgeson’s Campaign Development Coordinator for the past two years and is involved in all call centre-related components, including analytical, research-related and technical aspects, of the business. She is also instrumental in the quality assurance process as it relates to our daily communication with securityholders. Prior to joining Georgeson, Jessica spent 6 years working at Computershare in both operational and marketing roles.  She holds an Honours Degree from the University of Guelph and a Diploma in Public Relations from Humber College.
